Refund & Returns
SABAT Batteries Refund & Returns Policy
At SABAT, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you have received the incorrect product, a faulty battery, or need to return an eligible item, our team is here to assist.
1. Returns
Customers may request a return where the product:
-
Is faulty or defective
-
Is damaged on arrival
-
Is the incorrect battery supplied
-
Does not match the product ordered
The battery must be returned in its original condition, where reasonably possible, together with the original packaging and proof of purchase.
2. Incorrect Battery
If you receive a battery that is not the battery ordered, please contact us before attempting to install or use it.
Where the incorrect product was supplied by us, we will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund, subject to verification.
3. Faulty Batteries
SABAT batteries are covered by the applicable manufacturer's warranty.
If you believe your battery is faulty, please contact us or visit an approved SABAT battery specialist for testing.
A battery that has simply discharged is not necessarily defective. The battery and vehicle charging system may need to be tested before a warranty claim can be processed.
Do not open, repair, modify, refill, overcharge or otherwise tamper with the battery. Any unauthorised modification or tampering may affect your warranty rights.
4. Refunds
Once your return or warranty claim has been assessed and approved, we will confirm whether a replacement, repair, credit or refund is applicable.
Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Refund processing times may vary depending on your payment provider or bank.
5. Change of Mind
If you purchased the incorrect battery or simply changed your mind, please contact us as soon as possible.
The product must be unused, undamaged and suitable for resale. Returns resulting from a change of mind may be subject to applicable delivery, collection or handling costs.
6. Installed or Used Batteries
For safety and warranty purposes, batteries that have been installed or used may need to undergo inspection and testing before a refund or replacement can be approved.
If the battery is found to be defective and covered by the applicable warranty, we will assist with the appropriate remedy.
7. Proof of Purchase
A valid proof of purchase may be required for all returns, exchanges, refunds and warranty claims.
Customers should retain their order confirmation, invoice or other proof of purchase.
Registering your SABAT battery may also assist with verifying battery and warranty information.
8. Battery Recycling
Do not dispose of your old battery in general household waste.
Lead-acid batteries should be returned to an appropriate battery retailer, fitment centre or recycling facility so that they can be handled and recycled responsibly.
9. Refund Exclusions
A refund or replacement may not be available where a product has been damaged through misuse, incorrect installation, physical damage, unauthorised modification, neglect or use outside the manufacturer's specifications.
This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable South African consumer-protection legislation.
